Flourescent tubes how long ?

How long do i keep my flourescent tubes on per day,just wondering for my timer switch.

Plants or no plants? 10-12 hours for plants, 5-8 for just fish.

I'd say only 8-10 for plants and for no plants only keep them on when you are around to view the tank.

9 hrs/day on all tanks...just keep the non-planted tanks very low-light.

Yeah, about 8-10hrs a day is good, keeps algae growth down.
