Hey everyone,

Just a quick couple of question. I have had my biocube for a couple of years now and it's doing really well, but lately I have been having trouble with a lot of green algae. However, when I test my tank the results are in the optimal range. How long are the test kits reliable? I started getting a little sceptical when my boyfriend tested his brand new tank and everything was perfect.
My second question is what kind of test kits are best in everyone's opinion, and should phosphate be included in the tests?

Thanks.

Check out Elos and their test kits for nitrate and phosphate. They test in ultra-low ranges that other kits don't and seem to be fairly precise, IME. Yes, phosphate should be included, especially when dealing with algae.
