I don't have a way to get pictures of the fish online right now, but i just purchased 3 little african cichlids from the "random african" tank at an LFS. They're all around an inch and a half.
1. appears to be an albino peacock, his pupils are transluscent orange & has some orange coloration on his fins. Otherwise white w/ some light orange striping.
2. Looks similar to a peacock as well, he has a dark green face & dark/light green bars on his body (like a peacock)???
3. Has a Purplish head; orangish neck; purplish body/dorsal fin; red tip of dorsal, caudal, pectoral, & tail fins. Dark black spots along midline to tail. Also looks peacockish.

I know I'm not giving the greatest explanations, but if you have any ideas, I can atleast look up a specific species. Thank you.

Yowzers what a mix lol.

OK well, if he's got translucent orange pupils he is indeed an albino so that's a start. I'd really like to see a pic from what you say of the dark green face & green bars. Aside from that the description sounds a little like this fellow http://www.bayfish.com.au/images/albino_peacock_sml.jpg (that's an albino 'eureka/red' peacock.

But the mix of colouration generally makes me think, if it is an african, of Lake Victorian Cichlids...something an albino zebra obliquedens (relatively recently developed) http://www.cichlidrecipe.com/crecimage/hap.victoria13.jpg or this http://www.africancichlids.net/gallery/paracyprichromis_nigripinnis_albino.jpg

Aside from all of that, its going to very hard to ID a fish at an inch and a half which is from a 'mixed african' tank - its unlikely that they are a pure strain species in any event and there are lots and lots of combos which can arise, including peacock/mbuna hybrids.

Your guys in any event sound like verrrrrrrrry interesting little fellows - we'd love to see a pic.
