it's multiple Betta's syndrome........
i just couldn't help it he's just so you know,.. he's supposed to be a half moon,... but i can get him to flair all the way, he's too shy,..

i didn't think his tail should have a divit in it but oh well at least he's purdy...

he can spread the tail farther i just can get him to do it since he 's home he did it in the store,..
the post here shows the delta tails to be smooth not with a notch in it, his had a natural notch not a rip, at least from these pic here

That just looks like two spits in his tail to me. Wait till he spreads his fins all the way out, if it is 180 degrees or more it is a half moon, slightly less is a super delta, then delta ... He is definitely not a veil tail.
