I have had this guy for a while now. I have been feeding him HBH Algae Wafers. These things are loaded with what plecos need, but he soon stopped eating them. So the other day I bought some zuccini and blanched today. I just dropped one in about 20 minutes ago and I think he has gone too long with too little of food. He is attached to the backside of the tank under my AC300 filter intake. Is their a way I can get him interested in feeding again??? Thanks!

My pleco ignored zuchinni the first time I put it in also. Left it in there overnight and it was gone. Now when I put it in, he jumps on it...Just give him time :)

Oh..and turn the light off ;)

most plecos are nocturnal and normally search around for food at night like algae and sumtimes left over food. so yea let the zucchini in there for a while with the light off and see what happens, you never know he may find his next favorite food. :)

feed him pieces of shrimp if he dosn't care about the food and looks fine he probably is finding enough leftovers so you can feed him less

If he looks healthy then don't worry. I have a clown pleco i have never seen eat or even move of his driftwood in the 6 months i have had him.

But if he looks pale or has a sunken skinny tummy then there might be bigger problems then not seeing him eat.

Just got home this morning from work and the whole piece of zuccinin is gone. So, I guess this means he is eating. The tex didn't want to eat it at all. Well, thanks anyways!
