What I would do is pack the fish up myself and ship them via fedex to a LFS in Ohio. The LFS should be willing to do this for you for a small fee. For some good info on packing the fish, check here:

Of course if you aren't comfortable packing them, you could pay someone at your current LFS to do so...

Just put them into a large, lock-top cooler and transport them yourself.
Something like this works great..

Fill it up about half-full of your tank water, add the fish, lock it down and go. It's sturdy, no water spills, and maintains a steady temperature.

Agree with Slappy, and will add that you should take similar precautions when transporting the filter media. This will prevent the loss of beneficial bacteria, and you will be able to setup the tank in it's new location quickly and with minimal problems. You'll still want to monitor the tank carefully for spikes, though--it's never a sure thing!

decent suggestions........

if you do the cooler approach, buy a battery operated airpump tho.

i'd have to advise biting the bullet tho, and selling or finding new homes for them. you have how many hours on the road? do you have to stop and sleep? do you want the first thing on your mind when you get to a new home to be setting up an aquarium?

moves are bad enuf, trying to worry about fish would make it alot worse.

do you have any rare fish? those i might "consider" shipping to some sort of holding setup, but beyond that..... use it as an opportunity to restart your tanks.

sorry, just my opinion.

Hey thanks for all the great info. Matt I think I might go towards trying to sell these fish. I have to many rare fish I would hate to lose. I have 3 full grown frontosas and in my other tanks I have a breeding pair of sevrums, a florida gar, and a gorgouse full grown Texas. I would rather do whats best for the fish. I mean a 14 hour drive is to long for the fish. Thanks again. Garrett
