Hagen Power Glo [Archive] - Aquaria Central

I am considering changing bulbs from the Hagen Aqua Glo to the Power Glo since I like the look/tint of the light from the Aqua Glo but want it a little brighter. Does anyone have experience using the Power Glo on their tanks and if so, what is your opinion of it? How do the colors of the fish and plants look under it?

I can't speak on behalf of the plants but it will make the colors on your fish pop. Here are two pics, the first is with normal daylight bulbs.. the second pic is with one daylight bulb and one powerglo bulb. You can definitely see a difference.

Since Hagen got rid of the Life Glo (their best bulb IMO) and replaced it with the cheaper and clearly not as good Life Glo2 .

The Power Glo is now by far their best bulb IMO.

It has a much higher intensity and seems to highlight the colors of the fish better than the other Hagen Bulbs.

I also like the ZooMed Ultrasun. It also does a very good job.
