I think I'll end up answering my own question here, but I'll throw this out there anyway.
I have 2 Italian vals and 1 corkscrew val in my 75 gallon. I'm using nutrafin liquid fertilizer with extra iron and I'm running 2 40 watt GE aquarium/plant bulbs that I leave on for probably 10 hrs a day and I have just plain old inert gravel.
My plants look like they are dying, they are turning brown but not completely brown. Now here's the thing..... from these three plants I've cut off 4 new shoots off of the italians and 1 off of the corckscrew. I let them all grow to about 5-6 inches each before cutting them off. they are all lush and very green. All this in less than a month!
I guess my question is, Is this normal?
