I'd shoot for 76-78°F.
Its currently at 75.
I would actually say 75 is fine. A decent comprimise for those fish. Cardinals will do fine, just don't over feed them. They may be a little less active than at 80F but at 80F the other fish will be lethargic.

It kind of depends on where the Cories come from, but 76 is a reasonable compromise for all.

I agree, it depends on the corys. But 78 would be ok, as would 75.

I usually go for about 76 in a community tank and whatever is the best for the species in a species only tank. Some of the goodeid tanks are unheated even in winter.

from my experience, goodeids (butterflies) do better with a cooler setting...
78
I have been on trying to set my temp for 2 days with a thermometer that has the red liquid in it that rises with temp but it is either to warm or to cold. It is just trying to find a happy medium as the heater i am using does not have temp numbers on it just a + and - setting. I am turning the dial 1mm at a time but i am finding it difficult to get the temp that you guys mentioned. Is there an easier way to get the ideal temp or will i just have to persevere until i throw the aquarium through the front window.

My butterfly goodeids and my ameca splendens are both unheated. So are the xenotaenia resolanae. This means most of them are seeing temperatures around the mid 60s this time of year, about 16 or 17C. They are not truly tropical fish although they cannot survive outside in a temerate zone either. They like their water cool, not cold. All of the rest of my tanks are warmer than 72F, 22C, and as I said, I target about 76F, 24.5C, in a typical community.
