so, I found that I need to dose my 75 gal fresh with antibiotics. What can I use to save my dying fish and to not kill my mystery snail friend?

What is wrong with your fish? that shoud determine your medicine choice. Isolate the snails if possible.

I was told from the freshwater forum area that I most likely have a Bacterial thing going on and I need anitbiotics. I do not mind puttin him in a little fish bowl or something, but when can I put him back in? I hope I could keep him in there. Anyway, when battling a parasite long ago, I took a snail out, did water changes and he ended up dying anyway.
"I would run maracyn-two and deworm them by adding med into food. I don't recomend adding anything else to the water. maracyn-two treats dropsy and I really think that's what it is. "

Msjinkzd's Researches
Rachel helped me find a list of medicines considered safe for snails after researching through www.applesnail.net (http://www.applesnail.net/). She will eventually come up a list for shrimps if there is.:)
SNAIL safe meds
melafix
pimafix
albendazole
tetracycline
maracyn plus (this is supposedly safe for shrimp too)
Prazi Pro
Snail TOXIC meds
Maracyn 1 and 2
Copper
Jungle Fungus Clear
Clout
Flubenol
Potassium dichromate
Potassium permanganate

Here is her thread regarding the treatment against columnaris.

Most antibiotics are toxic for your snails. i would set up an isolation tank with a sponge filter at least, and do daily wc's until the treatment is completed. Then run carbon on your main tank and readd the snails.

Yeah, thanks, I will check out these meds. One last thing and Ill leave you alone! I was looking at the columnaris stuff. A while ago before all the deaths i have been having, I noticed a white patch between my odessa's eyes. all had it so I thought it was a maturity thing and it never grew. I left it untreated. Then, 2 moss colored tiger barbs died and it looked like their sides had those ulcers seen in pics on the site below:

I thought the others attacked them and it was bite wounds. Now, after 4 odessa deaths with dropsy like symptoms, 2 sudden deaths of ruby barbs, and a tiger barb that died yesterday that had white stuff on mouth, I think it is some sort of baterial thing. This has been going on for months (since i see white patch on odessas) and I never knew. So, which med should I try first? Oh, also, many of them have what could be fin rot, but I thought it was from them fighting so much (auralius, tigers and odessa barbs).
