Plumbing filter with PVC pipe

I dont like the way my Eheim filter tubing hangs from my aquarium. If I use PVC pipe to plumb it, will the cement used to weld the PVC harm my discus or plants?
I would imagine it would need a real good rinse, will it be safe after that?

Will be safe after it cures.. Follow the directions on the can for cure time.

I have glued tons of PVC and almost immediately ran water through it and into an aquarium. IMO, any reason why you would have to wait for any length of time is to let the PVC glue cure to get a better pressure rated seal (coming off a large pump for example).

you will be fine. Just wait about an hour before you use it. I have never had a problem this way.
