Hey guys... so basically whats going down is I'm getting angels and i don't want their fins being ripped to shreds by plastic plants...so i was talking about it to mom trying to get her to agree to getting silk plants and all of a sudden she's like why not just get real ones :werd::):):):):):) so i put together a list of plants i thought looked cool...i'm not going to be doing much to get them to grow or anything. i know they won't grow to fast if i do that but i can't afford anything for them more than what i've got already and mom's not going to buy stuff for them atleast not till the next present giving holiday (aka my birthday in July) so untill then they will be just going off of what i have a light idk what its watts is or where to look to see anyone want to tell me? oh and for those currious its a 20 gallon grow out tank till they can go in my larger one without being picked on by the bigger fish... after the angels move out its going to be a guppy tank :P

So here are plants that i like any/all suggestions are appreciated

Corckscrew val
Whorled/marsh pennywort
Pigmy Chain sword
Amazon frogbit
sunset Hygro
creeping red ludwigia
duckweed

i already have some java moss floating around in their from a snail order i got.I have to figure out how to attatch it to an ordiment that i want it to cover.

Look on the back of your light strip, it should say what the fixture is rated for, although your actual bulbs may be putting out less light.

I think 30" (20 long) are only 25 watts. 24" (20 high) are 20 watts. That's pretty low light, being under 1 wpg. I would stick to anubias, java fern, java moss, vals, cryptocorynes, etc. all low light plants. I prefer brazilian pennywort floating, and it will do better with the lower light than if it was planted. Duckweed, I wouldn't recommend for anyone unless they knew what they were getting into ;)

ok guys thanks for the help anyone else?

also with that advice which of the plants above could i get?

Corckscrew val possibly, my regular vals did just fine
Whorled/marsh pennywort floating would work
Pigmy Chain sword needs more light
Amazon frogbit should work
sunset Hygro possibly, though I have no experience with hygros in low light
creeping red ludwigia needs more light IME
duckweed ya don't want this...
