This is Flower...aka Fleur.
I found her in Dec 07 near downtown Cleveland...a friendly but skinny, dirty, stinky, stray.
The lady that had been feeding her was planning to move soon, and when the cat jumped into the trunk of my car, I figured she needed to come home with me.
Well, it's been a year now, she's now a much cleaner, fluffy well-fed puddy tat. Super friendly, loves to sit on your lap or sleep with you.
...but she does not get along with the other two cats. She doesn't like either of them, and one of them does not like her...so we have daily hissy-fits and she hides in the basement.
She really needs a home with NO other cats...and I suspect no dogs either, tho I can't be sure. She's been spayed and front-declawed.
I think she would be OK in an apartment; she doesn't seem to need much space, tho she does show an occasional interest in sneaking outside.

that's the prob :) We tried isolating her upstairs with her own litterbox; that lasted about 3 months and was a pain...
She's a real sweetie...changed my mind about having longhair cats, too.
Every longhair cat I'd previously met was a spoilt brat, not this one...
gotta love that mug shot pic!
Her eyes are really yellow-green...hard to get that in the pix....

That is awful, I just had to give my beautiful boy (who looked just like that with short hair) to new owners, who will not keep in touch, seeing that angel reminds me very much of mine.
Good luck finding her a place...

just for laughs, here's some pix from the first week we brought her home (skinny little rat)
Yes, we've fed her since then :)
last one is after a few weeks, needing a good brushing...

I bet they will take good care of your boy. I've never had to give one up; I'm usually the guy who takes them.

she is beautiful!! Good luck in finding her a home. Have you tried Craigslist?
(I blame Hooked for my newfound addiction to craigslist!)

I have thought about it many times.
I am a bit concerned about listing a free cat on craigslist...as to who might show up!....they say NO pets on the free listings too...
Great for getting rid of 'stuff' tho...and made some more fish geek friends there too.

have you tryied to just let them deal with their problems on their own?
i have a 14yr old one that hates my little siamese lynx point, but its just a "mommy she touching me" kinda thing
they really do get along just don't sleep or play together,..
the little one kinda sneeks up on her just to hear her scream, then they are fine,...lol

Yep, pretty much...there are no doors between them...except at mealtime. Flower does come up the stairs and hang out, but runs back down when the others get in her face. George just wants to be friends with her, but she hisses and runs away. "Little cat", (who is actually 12 now and still small), does NOT like Flower and chases her away every time she sees her.
It IS better than it was a year ago...but it's not fair to Flower. I think she'd be a GREAT only cat. I wish I knew how she would be around a dog....might be OK around a larger mellow dog, but I don't know.
I think she must had had some bad experiences with cats when she was living rough.

Wow what a pretty cat! Good luck finding her a nice home. I've had two sweet little kittens "find" me on 2 separate occasions this year. I wanted to keep them both so badly! I took them to a no kill shelter instead; hope they found good homes.

have you tryed spraying "little cat" with water everytime she hissed or scratched flower? we have taught our cat to avoid doing many things by this strategy..... but be careful not to wait too long, if the cat doesnt know why its being sprayed it might try to leave

I am sorry you have to part with your cat. I'd say send her out this way but we have four cats and two dogs (all rescues) and way to many fish. I feel bad for your tough decision.

Yeah I think you should try that and see if it works before you give her away. Because all you might need to do is that and then she'll be a nice kitty.:)

I think it's terrible nuisance to have cats who dislike each other. My brother's girlfriend has this going with no plans to re-home either of the cats. One is always locked in a room while the other roams.

my little siamese rules the upstairs and the other older one rules the downstairs and that suites them just fine the only squabbles are dinner time and potty time when they all are on the same level and as i said before its just whining and tormenting play for the little one, just to see if she can make grandma scream,..lol then all is well again,..
they are no different than kids, if you kids fight do you rehome them? i wish i could............lol my kids that is ....lol the cats don't bother me,.lol
Thanks for the suggestion, vamp, I'll try petfinder. I've been meaning to contact a local "no shelter" shelter that does adoptions at Petmart...and see if they would help adopt her out. Not sure how she would do in a cage all day tho.
unv...thanks, I haven't tried the water thing for a long time...but...LC knows she's being bad. She runs downstairs, chases Flower and runs back upstairs before I can even yell at her. LC just doesn't like Flower in "her" house. Maybe time to get the squirtguns back out...
I don't want her to be a "Christmas present" unless I know who she's going to. Of course, what's a few more weeks?
I have a friend who wants a B/W shorthair cat...maybe I should get the clippers out :eek3:

She is adorable. 'Course Mrs. Wyomingite wouldn't let me bring home another cat. We already have six.
WYite.
She's still here...obviously I haven't been looking hard enough. The few prospective owners I HAVE found already have a cat or dog!
Two hissy-fits today so far...

What a lovely Maine Coon mix. You can do some training with cats, using a squirt gun to the face of the one who started it when they are in the act of causing trouble sometimes works.
hmm...if she's Maine Coon, she aint much. I always figgered they were 20% bigger than a normal cat :)
she's medium cat size at an estimated 2.5 years old.

Yes, looks like a mix, but you can see the shape of the face and the longer hair around the bib and on the tail.
I have had to discipline some cats with severe beh. problems before and if you keep right on them, just like a dog, then sometimes it will work.
You just have to decide that no one is going to act like that in your house. You can try the water in the face and make sure to follow them with the gun untill they leave the area completely.
I hope you can find a home, it is a bad time for it though. You can try that petfinder website and ask the local shelters if you can list him on their sites.
Thanks...I do kinda see the resemblance now. She does have big paws for her size.
Just listed her on petfinder...apparently I never saw the "post your own classified" before, d'oh.
I think she'd be a great cat for someone who wants a cuddly cat...but just one.
Maybe I should market her as an auxiliary lap heater? She's certainly a warm little furball...

she's a beauty
we have 7 with issues only with an orange tabby male and a tuxedo female..
for some strange reason he likes to pick on scribbles.. whop was a rescue..
but scribs basically raised two of our ragdolls.. Oni still snuggles with her, lowering his head to let he clean it..like when he was a kitten. oni is now big cat on the block.. his brother(Tatonka) was larger but passes away from cancer.
oni put Zach the orange tabby in his place.
the ragies are pretty laid back for cats.. rarely an altercation involving them.. but then again we have a couple kittens that are almost as big as full grown cats.
I must admit..I have done NOTHING to try to get her adopted in the past 3 months.
She is a real lover..."JUST DON'T TOUCH MY FEET"
She shredded my hands when trying to to clip her rear claws last month...I've finally healed. She's going in soon for rear declawing.
If you know anyone in NE OH that would like a sweet but fiesty kitty...and has none, please let me know!

Still looking for a home...
Today she DROPPED into my lap from above the computer desk...what a mooch.
Definitely seeing the possible Maine Coon resemblance. Might have to take new pix.
Haven't had the rear claws done but still seriously thinking about it. I got one rear paw done today before she freaked out.
