Does anyone know how to catch the little guys without a net? I can use the inverted bottle trap for the adults pretty effectively but the shrimplets just don't seemed to be fooled. I wanna try to avoid putting them in a net, don't wanna stress the shrimp more than necessary.

I just moved my shrimp to a new tank and there were dozens of them to catch. I used a siphon hose and a small net and they seemed to do fine. You might try to find a really soft net.

i guess using the net is unavoidable, I do have a brine net that would definitely catch them. I felt lucky to have gotten three little ones in my bottle trap just now. I was debating using a turkey baster but I think that would be just as stressful as a brine net.

thanks rachel but I spent the last 3 or 4 hours with a turkey baster sucking out one baby shrimp at a time...

36 tiny shrimplets = pik calling it a night...or morning technically.

I use a brine shrimp net.
Works fine, I feed them and while they eat, i scoop em up!

thanks for the tips, all. I spent the entire night through to the morning sucking up shrimplets with a baster and acclimating them to their temporary tank. Today's feeding day so I'll do the bait-and-net for the rest of em. I'm guessing there will easily be more than 45 shrimplets total, all from my original stock of 15 I bought from msjinkzd 2 months ago!

And as if that wasn't enough cause to celebrate, there are currently at least 4 berried females :D

I simply set a trap. Get like one of those betta cups from Petsmart or anything similar. Drop some food inside, such as shrimp pellets or anything you have. Wait a few hours, come back and you will have a lot in the cup. Haven't failed me yet.

I use a brine shrimp net on the really little ones and it works well.

I put the bait in the net and let it lay in the bottom of the tank.

i have the brine net at the bottom of the tank with some food in it, been there for over an hour and not one shrimplet, I'm just gonna leave it there and start basting again. I'm up to 63 fry turkey basted outta the tank one by one >.>
