I know ZILCH about snails but decided to get a few for my various tanks

Could someone please tell me the names of these?
Thanks!

Pomacea bridgesii for all of them I think. :)

I agree. They are all pomacea bridgesii ("mystery" snails) :)

The shell of one brig looks cracked near where the operculum would close. Were they in poor tank conditions of the store?:(

Yes, very poor :(

I've never had snails before, but I figured I could give them better conditions than what they were in.

Is there anything I can do about the crack?

Give them calcium enriched foods such as collard greens, dose liquid calcium, give calcium pills, cuttlefish bones or broken egg shells, and make sure pH is not lower than 7.0. Liquid calcium and calcium pills aren't necessary but they do help. Plaster of Paris pucks also help. Acidic water can erode their shells. You could try reading the snail jello recipe sticky where we put list of calcium enriched foods and plenty of recipes for the snail foods.
