After I lost a large amount of my Fish Stock in the power outage in August, I live in Detroit, my Fiance got me a new fish. A Black Stripe Chiclid. I had never heard of one, but it was small and I decided to put it in my tank.
He started to get very vicious to all my other fish, Mostly Lamprologus Species, He was fin nipping very badly, and I decided to isolate him. He is now in a 2.5 gallon tank I had a betta in at one point.
Basically I would like to know if anyone has any ideas what to do with this fish? I tried to find an LFS that would take him, but so far the few I have contacted are not interested at all. I refuse to kill him or let him die. So far he seems content in the small tank, he is rearanging the gravel every day to opposite sides of the tank.
I know when he is larger, he is only about 2 1/2" at the moment, my research seems to show he would be upwards of 12-14" when fully grown, so in the long run I know i cna't keep him.
I'm just confused about this...I have never been in the position to need to get rid of a fish before.
