What is the best solution for power outtages on a long distance tank for $20 or under?.
Plans are for 150 housing synos. Battery pumps which plug into the power strip and turn on automatically would preferred due to the obvious issue of not being able to drive there when the weather is bad. I found a Pennplax brand which will do this, any others?. Just needs to lastlong enough until I can drive there and check on them so at least a day.

Nothing is really going to work for $20 or under. Nothing that I can think of anyways.

you could build a relay box, and connect battery powered pumps to that...

:werd:I believe a dependable power source is gonna run a bit more than 20 bucks. "T"

well for $20 you could buy an extension cord long enough to reach the neighbors house...

A good solution might be a small 100-200w inverter connected to a 12v battery. Problem is it will run you over $100. But then again if you have several hundred dollars of livestock of say SW fish, could be worth it. Only other downside to it is the fact that batteries will only last so long.... but a large 12v farm and tactor battery could have your tank running for about 12+ hours.
