So, in a shipment of feeder guppies we got an unusual shrimp, one that I have never seen before. It was similar in color to a ghost shrimp only it had a single bar of red on each of it's long front antennae. It's eyes also bulged out from it's head and was significantly larger, with a distinct hump in it's back...all this has led me to a Macrobrachium Sp. however I don't think it had the large claws...but it's hard as I am just trying to remember it's description. I wish I had a camera at the time...

I put it in our invert tank w/ brigs, ghost (or some sort of white Neocaridina species) and cherry shrimp. Everything I've read (which there isn't a lot out there) says they reach 2" and aggressive with other shrimp species...which most likely isn't good for me. Should I just remove the "mystery" shrimp, or can someone possibly give me a good ID based on my horrible description???

Yeah, I guess it would be the best option ;)

But I'm still curious to see if someone has any idea as to what it is...I apologize again for the lack of pics.

Look through Mustafa's site and see if anything resebles it, it could be a juvenile macrobrachium so not at its fullcolors. http://www.petshrimp.com/shrimpspecies.html

Sounds to be an American Glass Shrimp they will have a bit of red on the small claws, antenna, and spots on tail sometimes or may have very little red. Ghost Shrimp is a very generic namt LFSs use to describe any FW clear shrimp....
