Glowing Brittle Starfish

So in my 10gallon nano reef I have a bunch of little white brittle starfish (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/rob1116/white_brittle.jpg). Im sure some of you do too. Anyways I was cleaning my tank tonight after the lights were out so I could eliminate some of them because I have tons and I cut one in half and it glowed a bright neon green like that color but much brighter. Like a glowstick. What causes this? Has anyone else seen it? It was really cool.

Very interesting, I don't know what fluids inside could have caused that. Its blood???

Ya if you have some maybe try it. I dunno so you can see what I am talking about. I had the lights off in my room. I was just using the moonlights to see.
