As far as I know, any Algae killer is toxic to fish, whether the label says it is safe or not. I have heard several stories of people losing all their fish due to the use of an algae remover...
if you have green water, try a UV sterilizer if you can.

Yeah if you have to use chemicals to kill something, it's probably best not to use it with fish in the tank.

I pumped my pond water into my holding tank and for some reason the heat ,light or whatever,it turned dark green in about a week so its a seasonal problem so i tryed a quick fix..Hopefully it wont turn back. if it does ill probably go with a uv sterilizer..i could use it on my pond too i guess..Do you have to runn them all the time, and how expensive is it to run-maintain?

UV sterilizer is a great way to kill the suspended algae in the water. Once the problem is taken care of you can turn off the light for a while. I leave mine on all the time and I usually end up cleaning it out about once a month. I'm not sure how much it costs to run per month.

The algae killers are snail and invert killers too.

I found out the hard way not to use them. Just a couple months ago we put to much in our divided 20g and killed all 4 of our beautiful male betta's. :(
