Well i have finally decided that my old tank of 60x30x30 (15 gall i think) is way to small,so i am looking for the next step up,what do you guys reckon of a 80x35x45 tank.I have included a link so you guys can tell me what you think.
http://www.rocketaquatics.co.uk/juwel-rekord-aquarium-beech-cabinet-p-1875.html or would you guys go slightly bigger, bear in mind the wife is a factor and does not want a massive tank in the living room.

Link doesn't work.

Size depends really on what you are stocking it with. Go as big as your budget can allow.

Link does work, and ya go as big as you can. When you start out and make mistakes, it takes a big oops to really mess up a big tank where as a little oops in a very small tank can be devastating. The one there looks good, you might want to see if you can go bigger but if that is as big as you can then it looks good.

Cheers guys for the advice, its just that over here in the U.K. a decent size tank costs alot of money,in the region of £350.00 with a cabinet.

Odd. It didn't work the first time.

What do you currently keep? What fish are you wanting?

Hi DavyR. I have been reading about people getting exceptionally good deals at a store called Aldi over there. There may be a way for you to upgrade without the usual costs if they are right. It sounds to me a lot like what we call a 29 but slightly longer and not quite as tall so it will be more flexible to stock than the tank you are using without being overly large. It will still be small enough to limit the size of the fish that you put in it, and fish that really like to swim hard may still find it a bit confining.

There are lots of cheap deals on tanks here in the uk if you look for them. A few years back i got a 65g (250 litre) tank with stand, hood, lights, filter and heater for £250 from the big giant pet store. My 180g (680 litre) cost me £400 second hand and that came with every thing i needed as well. I have also got a lot of decent size tanks from freecycle.

The juwel tank in the link IMO is way to expensive. I don't personaly like juwel tanks, the filters take up a lot of space in the tank and can be very hard to remove and from what other people have said about them the lights that they come with can be very unrealible.
