Yesterday when I came home for the evening, I approached my big tank for feeding in the same manner that I always do and my Angel went nuts! He was darting all over and bashing into the glass. It took him quite a while to calm down. He is usually such a piggy and immediately comes to the front of the tank for feeding time.....I did get a haircut yesterday but I don't think it changed my appearance that much?! :eek3:
Do you think I just startled him or could this be an indication of something else going on? I have had him in the tank for several months and this is the first time he acted so erratic....

You know, I don't keep angels, but I had this happen with my Oscar last week.......all because I was wearing a hat! He tore the CRAP out of himself. My discus will also hide and dart if I am wearing dark clothes and approach the tank right after the lights come on.

Is the fish eating well? Are your parameters in the right ranges?

I would monitor honestly and not assume somehting is necessarily wrong right off the bat.

My sevs hide behind anything they can if I try and feed them in a ponytail! So it could be the haircut.

Thanks for setting my mind at ease Rach...My params are normal - 0-0-2. (my trAtes are always low). He ate really well after he finally calmed down. I guess he really does not like my new "do" LOL
I was really worried about him hurting himself but he seems to be ok. We'll see how it goes tonite....Poor baby.

My biggest angel did the same thing once, I went by the tank and he went crazy in exactly the same way. I would not worry too much about it.

It probably was something you were also wearing, my Angels try to hide when i'm wearing dark clothing also. When they start going nuts I stand on the side of my tank and feed, that way I can move away and let them eat.

Thanks for the input everyone. I will be very careful tonite when I feed the tank. Jeez! silly fish.
