i have a mating pair of flower horns. they are healthy but i wanted to know what a good price would be to sell them to a fish store would be. My local store told me $2 store credit per fish. Is that worth it or should i shop around.

Got any pics? How big are they? Most high grade flowerhorns sell for quite a bit.

none yet they are tiny at the moment prob a couple months from moving them. I got back from Vegas and they were all over the place. Both flowerhorn padres are alone in a 30 gal. But i boutght the parents for 9.99 a peice. they are 3 inch or so and are beautiful.

i bought 4 firemouths and 3 flower horns and put them in the 30 gal. but the flowerhorns teamed up , and (survival of the fittest) are now the only ones left.

Yeah that tank is/was way too small for those fish.

You could try aquabid and see what they go for..

Keeping two flowerhorns together is not a good idea. Soon u might end up with only one. They are territorial fish and best to keep single. And 50g is minimum for one flowerhorn. For the price u need to know about the flowerline, colour, gender, pearl pattern, shape and hump(KOK) size. They show their potential at around 3-4" and you can guess the gender at that size. Good luck.

The pair mated already. I have about 100 fry. The flowerhorns are smaller than two inches still though.Granted they did eliminate the other flower horn and other fish in the tank.

But i know what you mean i had to put a devide for about a week. then when i removed it they breeded.

$2/fish? You're getting ripped off. Grow em' out, sell on aquabid. That or sell all the fry on there for $4/each. One way or the other, you can do better than what you've been offered.

It totally depends on the quality. Post pix of the parents and you can get a better response. $2 per fish is reasonable if they're just low grade ZZ.

$2 a flowerhorn may be reasonable in concept, but not what actually happens most of the time. Watch the LFS turn around and sell at $25-$50 ea. Same thing happens on aquabid all the time.

It must be different here. You'll see low grade FHs from $7-$15.

Also, if a store can sell low grade fish for that much, more power to 'em.
