Is this enough??

Looks like a pretty good deal, still need a drop checker though.
As long as you have decent water movement in the tank the Co2 through out the tank should be fine.
 
My water movement is really good as I have 1 return on each side of the tank, 600 GPH on each return.

Should I have almost no water agitation? I moved the returns so there is almost none.

Water movement on the surface is good, you just don't want to break the watter surface like you would with a water fall type HOB filter. If you do have agitation you would just need to increase you Co2 a little bit to make up for what is getting gassed off

drop checker isnt a must but a co2 tank is.

no all in ones tend to be a good deal. you really dont need the ph controler. the reactor is nice but could do your own. its way over priced. just pick up a regulator find a local place to get a co2 tank. i would invest in a drop checker and find a way to diffuse the co2.

I have two ways I think diffusing the c02 would work well. One is with a Saltwater ceramic diffuser. I can place that under a powerhead which will break up the c02 into hundreds of thousand of bubbles.

The second is to place tha same diffuser in my sump so my return pump can act as a diffuser and chop the bubbles form the impeller. I think option 2 wouild work best as both side of the tank will get the same amount of C02.


What sites can I check out for the regulator setup? Will this come with a needle valve and bubble counter? Where i live there isnt anyone who stocks this stuff,or even know what Im talking about. I would rather order it from places people have had good experiences.

well the marinedeopt one didnt look. you can get regulators for $75-80 off ebay. i dont know anyone using the dr foster and smith one. another option is aquariumplants.com they have their own regulator too.

ok this is a big one. one problem with sumps is they degas your water. with a planted tank most people use canisters. this was there isnt much surface agitation. with a sump you have to make sure you seal it up as best you can. all that agitation will just let the co2 out of the water. its harder to get to a higher level of co2.
 
The sump is pretty covered for the exception of a area of 12"L X 12"W to get acces to my return pump.

Im kind of leary on the Ebay regulators as I want good quality, and want to read reviews on what Im going to spend money on. Since Im new to the FW C02 thing, I want to make sure Im getting what I pay for as I dont know what exactly to look for.

Would I be better off with a Automatic Co2 setup? Do I need a Reactor??
