I am receiving some plants this week in the mail, and I was warned that some may contain snails. I'd like to treat all the plants just to be sure. I have some Alum, which I bought at the grocery store. It is in a spice container (dry powder).
How much do I add to a 5 gallon bucket if I want to soak overnight?

lookey what i found (http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/docs/invertebrates/snailrid.shtml)
Alum (aluminum sulfate), at a concentration of one or two teaspoons per gallon, also makes a bath to eliminate snails and snail eggs. Twenty-four hours should do it. Rinse the plants thoroughly before putting them in the aquarium.
Sump, 2 hrs. will kill snails but for snail eggs leave em in overnight.
BTW, 1 tsp./gal. will do it.
