I know that some plants are Excel sensitive (anacharis, which I have and various Vals). Are these plants sensitive to Excel in large doses only or will the presence of Excel in any amount cause these plants to melt?

I've kept vals in tanks with the occasional dosing of excel and never experienced melting. I would have to say that only full dosing would cause it.

:iagree: Mgamer is right as always...hit and miss with vals and excel Some days it helps, other days it melts!
Yeah, hit and miss. Mostly miss with me. I also have had crypts and hygro melt after half dosing with Excell.
I guess your particular water chemistry can interact with excell in good or not so good ways.
