My new biocube 29!

As long as it isn't planted there is nothing wrong with it. For my tanks that have them, they run 24/7 for the last 3 years. One tank has a corner filter so for that tank it MUST run 24/7.

thanks ya i just started it and i have artificial plants in now...if i eventually get real plants should i put the air pump on a timer...one more thing when should i put on my lights/turn them off...any special schedule not to get algae?

Unless you are running CO2, the air pump can run all the time. Especially if it is running a sponge filter or old internal box filter.

Some folks like the bubbles, other don't. You can get sufficeint surface agitation that does not require their use.

8-10 hrs of light is fine for most tanks, but it will also depend on how much indirect light your tank gets and what is in your tank.
