Okay, so I found a flourescent light fixture in my sis' shed. Cool, more light for my plants(and algea for snails, lol). The bulbs were burnt out and so i went on a quest at work to find some bulbs, determined not to still make this free lighting! so i found these two that are the size i need, but i am not sure how to understand what the crazy mess of letters and numbers mean, or how to comprehend how much more lighting this is gonna give my tank.
So, it is a double fixture, holding 2 4' bulbs. The bulbs are labled:

Luxline (which i assume is the brand)
F34T12/CW/ES (Dont have a friggin clue)
Terra-Lux

If any one else has even a clue as to what all that crap means, plz LMK. I will go from there as to how much light these will provide.

Thanks for yor help.

Terra-Lux and Luxline is the manufacturer and brand of bulb

F34T12 denotes that it's a 34w T12 (bulb size, diameter) bulb.

The second part after the / denotes the color. In this case CW stands for "cool white", the color temp the bulb emits, cool white bulbs usually have a k rating around 4,000k. Not sure what the ES stands for but it should also be related to the color.

Thanx for breakin that down for me! I googled the bulb, learned a lot of weird stuff. And also met some really great (albiet crazy) folks who are really obsessed with flourescents! So these bulbs were a really 'enlightening' experience. now i just get to decide if i want more light in the front for foreground planting, or in the back for the backdrop filling. i think i'll put it in back, for now at least, until i decide what to use for ground cover. I kinda like the riccia. IDK we shall see.
I cant wait to put new pics up of this tank, i dramatically rescaped it, should be fun to get feed back, it looks sooooooooo much nicer now!
