But anyway, here are my centipedes. Only 2 at the moment - a 4.5" Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans "Red Leg" and a 5" Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans "Yellow Leg". The Red Leg was unfortunately defanged by the pede suppliers (for safety). Ironically, it's the longest lived pede I've had so far.

Very interesting, Pede. I have pedes about 3"long, but without the colour, in my garden.
It's Summer here, and the insects since Spring have been in very healthy numbers. I don't use chemicals, so a pretty comprehensive network of insects has settled in. I need to learn how to use a camera. I have a (non digital) SLR with a macro lens. I've gotta do it! Yours look great. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliment! Why don't you catch a pede or two, since it's your garden anyway. Australia has a number of large species. Victoria may be a little too far south though, but no harm in catching one and taking a few pictures. What camera and lens do you use? You should get a DSLR if you can. The D40, especially, gives the most bang for the buck!
 
ugly little thing. i cought one in my yard yesterday and he was nowhere near as scary lookin as that thing. poor frogie.

wow! honestly I only like spiders as far as bugs go but these guys are kinda cute, couldnt hold 'em though, way to worm like for me! very beautiful colors!
