Specifically, one that has leaves which curl over, and stays less than 3".

I've been getting Dwarf Sag from various sellers left and right, but so far, they've all grown quite tall (12"+).

Dwarf sag grows higher in low light or when crowded.

Micro sword Maybe? Although I'm not sure if it does the curl over you mentioned.

The chain swords should "curl over", at least mine did when I had them.

^Do you have a scientific name for those? All I can find are a couple sketchy sites with people selling them...and the plants don't look much like other vallisneria.

Best suggestion so far. This is one I'll look into.

Dwarf sag grows higher in low light or when crowded.

I don't think this is the problem here, I think there are multiple species and possibly subspecies being sold as "Dwarf Sag", and I ended up with ones that grow a foot tall.

I don't think they curl over.

I've only seen one person selling a so-called "Pygmy Val", but I think it was concluded that he had some sort of Saggitaria rather. Certainly an option though.

If you want one that stays lower than 1", you can get some Dwarf Hairgrass. I also have dwarf chain sword and it looks prety good in my tank.

I do think that there are larger species or varieties of sags so maybe you didn't get the dwarfs

Pygmy chain swords are probably the best fit for your description.

The Dwarf Sag is a single species, S. subulata. Of course, what also gets sold as dwarf sag, who knows. The true one generally stays at around 4".

But a lot of other sag species are commonly sold as pond plants and are found in the southern US. As I said, could have been mislabeled.
