Lol. I got the same gift from mine. The Brasiliensis hatched the day after Christmas. I got a few more Giant Danios to replace the jumpers I lost over the past few months ( I forget to close the lid every now and then ). Now that there are free swimmers the Danios are being terrorized by mama. I'll be siphoning some of the fry out and that usually gives the Danios a break. She just beats the crap out of papa after I do this.

Funny story ( well, kind of ): I got the danios on Monday, part of my Christmas present ( wife said the 90 gallon I wanted wouldn't fit in my stocking ). I drip acclimate new fish, so I got out a fish bucket and dumped the little guys in. I usually acclimate for about an hour, so I go occupy myself for awhile. I was messing around on the interweb for awhile when I friend called and invited us over. " Sure! " we said. We made the 45 minute drive and sat down for a few beers.

After awhile the conversation turned to aquariums ( I love it when that happens ), and suddenly it was " Oh Sh*t! ".

I use the drip right? So it's just a siphon from the main tank and I had about 5" of line in the tank. I had the valve open a bit more than usual, and I used the small bucket ( about 2 gallons ). We hauled *** home, and I was dreading the pool of water on the floor and tank base. Danios love to hang out near the top of the water, and will happily jump out of a 2" gap, let alone an open, overflowing bucket.

Well, thankfully I didn't have the valve open as much as I thought, and there was only about 4 towels worth of water on the floor. There were 2 Danios out of the bucket though. One was flopping around right next to the bucket, and he went right in the tank and was fine. Must not have been out very long. The other one had flopped about 4 feet, under the dining room table, and was motionless. My wife scooped it up. It wasn't moving at all and looked like Jerry Garcia with all the dog and cat hair covering it.

Having fished all of my life, I knew to revive a fish, you cup it and move it back and forth in the water, forcing water accross it's gills. I don't know how long this fish had been on the floor; we were gone for at least 3 hours, but it wasn't even gasping by the time we got it in the tank. After about 3 minutes of fishy CPR, I had nearly given up hope. I opened my hand after I had pretty much given up and to my surprise, the fish slowly started to breathe, and then swim. Pretty sweet!
He's recovered fine, and just in time for the Geo fry to become free swimming and mama Geo to harrass the hell out of him.

WoW what a ordeal afro man i can not tell you how many times i have done the same thing but i dont use the drip method i allow the bag to float and do small additions of water over 1/2 hour and have accidentally left a fish in a bag over night..

What a story AfroCichlid, I had no idea you could revive a fish like that.

For Christmas I got a 40g breeder tank from my husband and I treated myself to some new artificial plants (I have no luck with live plants) and some other ornaments. No new fish yet - just put in my 8" blood parrot, 9" sailfin pleco, gourami, 2 cories, and small school of neon tetras. Here's a link to some pics if interested:

My husband and I bought ourselves a 75 gallon planted tank, and 2 complete 29 gallons, minus stands. Extra plant lights, extra bulbs, the works.
