Ok, I got some generic tums (equate brand) for my snails as a calcium supplement, tossed one in the tank, and the dojos had a field day with it. I think about half dissolved into the water, but the dojos gobbled the rest down before the snails could get near it... so, is it safe for them to eat? I would assume it is if it's safe for snails, but I just want to be sure.
Yes, it is. But my dojo ignores the snail jello which has tums added and then the tums itself.lol

Ok, thanks. :)
All my fish except the male betta are little pigs that eat anything that hits the water. lol

Hmm, would the antacid in tums help buffer your water chemistry?

Well, I know it hasn't changed my pH any. It does increase dissolved solids though

Tums is pure calcium carbonate and can alter your water chemistry. It's just any calcium dosing that does.lol
