i have a tiny little pleco in my tank who's as active as all get out. cleaning this, sucking that........but won't eat anything else. i have sinking wafers for bottom feeders that he won't go anywhere near & i've tried parboiling zucchini & greens but to no avail.

should the wafers be algae wafers? should i feed at night after i turn the lights out? spirulina cubes???

not sure what to do

How long have you had the pleco and been trying to give him new foods? Because sometimes it takes a while for them to realize that what you are putting in the tank is to be eaten. What type of pleco do you have, it might not eat veggies and would prefer meaty foods.

How long are you leaving the veggies in the tank, have you boiled or frozen them to make it softer?

I keep my zuchini in the tank for 2-3 days, they usually don't start eating it untill its been in the tank for a while.

Do you know which pleco you have?
They are not all vegetarians.

he's your common pleco....he's only been in the tank for a couple of weeks.

should the food be attached to a clip (if so how high or low) or can i let float around or sink.

For cucumber and zucchini you need to weight them down.

weighed down is best. I use a fork attached to a fishing line for easy removal. jsut stick the veggie to the end of the fork and throw it in.

You can also use a rock and secure the veggie with a rubber band. I have used this method also but like the fork better as you dont' have to stick your arm in and get wet to get it out.
