I am setting up a planted 20 gallon tall and I am stuck between two different light fixtures. I have some questions about them.

Tank Info
The tank has flourite gravel.
I am setting up Co2 system
The tank will have a submersable filter so the surface tension won't be broke by air bubbles or a hanging filter.

The tank will contain a pair of rams and 3 otos along with the plants.

Fixtures
The first one fixture is a T5 hood with a SlimPaq Freshwater T5HO color bulb & SlimPaq 10,000K T5HO bulb. Total wattage is 48watt

The second fixture is a is a single 65 watt 6700k power compact bulb

Questions
1. Is one type better for plants than the other?
2. Is there a big differenace on the plants between 10000k vs 6700k bulbs?

Any other advice or suggestions for lighting would be appreciated.

Thanks for help ahead of time,

Scott

The more light, the more work. At least that's my opinion. You'll have to pay more attention to Co2 and nutrient levels else algae will become more of an issue.

With over 2 wpg you shouldn't have trouble growing a lot of different plants anyways.

The 6700-10000 K range is usually recommended, although it basically comes down to which is more visually appealing to your eye. Plants don't have a preference.

Thanks for the help! I ordered the T5 hood but found it a little cheaper.
