Here is a couple pics, one of my 10 gallon that has my 2 Harlequin rasboras. I know that I really need to get a background, working on that as we speak. Water is a little "tea-ish" from the driftwood. Any feedback would be great!
I just got this pair a few days ago, so I'm only adding a couple at a time, but I do plan on getting a few more. I love these little guys, the have such a big personality for such a little fish.
Agree with Gerber... Harlequins are a schooling fish and feel all stressed and jumpy if they're more isolated like this. They should be kept in a minimum of six.
I just had a second look at the pics. Boy!!! For harlies, your fish look so slender. They look like Trigonostigma espei to me. No gold bar along the flanks which T. hengeli does have.
I thought they were slender, too, but being new to the hobby, I just thought it was because they seemed young. Investigating the Trigonostigma espei, they seem to be slender like them, but black marking is more prominent on my little guys. Any more thoughts would be great. Thanks
Definitely not hengeli; way too slender. Might be a related species and not espei either; there are loads more species in most of these genera than we ever see.
I looked around some online and I know there are probably more rasboras than that, didn't see anything between the two. But is it possible my two are a hybrid? Or is that not really how it works..
Like I said, I'm totally new to this, but now you all really got me interested in what they could be..
