I'll be setting up a 5g tank for a new betta arriving sometime this week. I don't have much room in the substrate (as I have 2 good size pieces of Mopani drift wood in there.) I'm going to be using Thatian Moon Sand as a substrate with black gravel under the Thatian Moon Sand because of plants I may use with roots small enough to slip through sand alone (just my experience and my way of making a fix of the minor issue I've had in other tanks) As of right now, it will just be Anana (the betta) when the plants do take over, I may try some shrimp in with him and see how he does with them as most of my other bettas kill and eat snails.
If you have anything you think might work, please feel free to post with a price and what the plant is. I'll take clippings or plants. Plants that can be attached to driftwood would be awesome. The wood I choose has some GREAT places where I can attach plants.
Thanks in advance!
