I just got a 29 gal tank and stand for $180. and i was going to put my cichlids in there until i get enough for a 55. better than then sitting in a small 10 gal holding tank.

but i was thing on getting some lace rock and some honey come, about 30lbs of each, when i put my cichlids in my 55 the rock will go with them since i will turn my 29 in a barb tank, thats why some much rock. but just wondering if they would look awesome, since i dont like the look of the slate and large river stones unless with this

Its a lot of rock but i like a full tank of rock formations and with that much rock it takes away from the actual water volume in all, so you will probably end up with 20gal of actual water..

I wouldn't stock heavy on the fish load..

well i dont plan on using 60lbs of rock is a 29 gal, so so i have two different types of rock in the tank, i will put them into a 55 gallon with the cichlids when i get the 55

Honey comb rock (texas holey rock) isn't cheap, so be prepared to spend some money on that.

well the source that i am buying from it cost me $90 for the 60lbs. 30 of the holy rock and 30 of the lace rock. but the holy rock is not white it is multi earth toned. like browns and green and tans

Your post wasn't precise i thought you were saying you were going to add all of that rock to the 29gal sooo i would say cool should look nice in the 55gal once you complete it..

Have fun..
