i just bought two rams and was wondering what types of food brings out their colors best?

Good water conditions will be key. I feed mine frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. Hakari cihclid gold pellets and any flake food i have lying around.

A nice dark (black IMHO) substrate will also bring out their colors well. A sandy or lilght colored substrate will diminish their colors drastically in most cases.
