So i was thinkin...Ive been saving up my money for like a friggin year now...Why not wait longer and get myself a fuge?

So here are my questions. I would like it to overflow back into the tank without a pump(except too get the water into the fuge of course). I also dont want it to be mroe complicated then the main tank, just a box with whatever macroalgae and stuff, and a pump.

So now that i have that part covered... What about lighting this thing? I also dont wnat to go over the lighting funds ALLLLLL over again so i also want to keep think cheap. And what would i put in it? LS and a few peices of LR? And then what kind of plants( or microalgae) would i be puttining in it? Calaurpa?

TIA

I heard a lot about using AC 500 for fuges. Does anyone have the dimensions for one of one of these? They are pretty cheap so i think that the AC might be the ticket. now all i need to figure out is the lighting......

This is what I use on my fuge. It's enough to grow ulva and chaetomorpha macroalgae. Cheaply made, but it does the job. If you use an AC for a fuge, it will be shallow enough for this to be useful.

That looks like it would work very good. I kind of want to avoid shipping, so would a bookworm type light work?I could clip two on each side of the filter so the whole thing gets enough light.

I too am building a Ref. I plan on going to my local HD and getting a small under the counter Flor light that is about $12. Then I am going to get one of the 18" Aquairum bulbs for the light. In all it should only cost about $22. It is my solution to the whole inexpensive thing.
