Just wanted to show off my beautiful butterflies, shame about my dodgy camera skills and less than ideal camera (my sister has the good one) but hopefully their beauty comes through. I spent many months planning and thinking about setting up a butterflyfish tank and now I finally have it . The butterflies were added after the tank was set-up for about 11 weeks and I've only had them for 10 days so something could still go wrong but so far so good.

Butterflyfish can be pretty difficult to care for, mainly with feeding, so they are only really for someone somewhat experienced and willing to put in the effort. All the butterflyfish ate within 2 days and are now eating very well.

Chaetodon pelewensis - named Morse due to him being a Dot Dash Butterfly.

Chaetodon mertensii - named Salvador, long story.

Chaetodon citrinellus - Named Pyro by my sister.

Full tank shot and some coral pics. Butterflyfish do eat corals but not all butterflyfish eat all corals, softies seem to be the go with my guys.

Again sorry for the quality of the pics. If anyone would like any details on the tank, how I got the fish eating etc just ask.

A very nice butterfly indeed...

**As a side note, looks like you have a bit of cyano forming there on the sandbed... :) **

Thanks.
Yeah cyano is the bane of my exsistance, it doesn't bother me much though as long as the water quality is good and it doesn't get too bad. Butterflys need 3 feeds a day which doesn't help with the algae. I also probably need another powerhead in there so thats on the list.

Thanks.
Its a 55g, 4ft long tank. I'd say its probably the minimum sized tank for a group of the smaller species of butterfly's.
