Well, the mail is sometimes here by 11:45, but sometimes takes until like 4pm. Today, it didn't come, so, by 4:30, I called, they said that the guy would be there in 20-25 minutes (I gave him my address for reference). Hubby and I kept watch, NOBODY showed, so, by 5:30, I called again (just a few minutes ago), well, he says that the drivers had already returned. Umm, excuse me? The guy told me that they delivered to my area, we just somehow didn't see him, and for some reason, nobody on my street has any mail. I have a package that should have been here either yesterday or today, and, guess what, it's still not here. Great, thanks, so you were running late, so you decided not to deliver my LIVE package. Thanks guys.

You know what's interesting? I was expecting a live package today and no one here got any mail either...

I can't, the P.O. is closed to the public now. What sucks is that I was GOING to pick it up today, but went in, cashed a money order, and the machine was causing problems, and then it totally slipped my mind. :/

Vampie, that's really weird. What, is today national lazy *** P.O. delivery man day?

The thing that really irks me, this package is coming from TWO HOURS away, and was shipped out on Wednesday. FFS, for the money I had to pay to have them shipped, and the hellish delays and PITA that the P.O. is being, I might as well have just picked them up.

I had a problem very similar to this except the mail man came to my house, (very visible through the picture window) dropped a card in the mail box that said no one was home and I had to pick it up. He never got out of the truck and my wife was on the porch. The package contained 6 rather expensive fry, so I got on the phone to have someone track the package (mail man) down so I could go and get them. I was told that was impossible, and I'd have to wait until 5 o'clock to pick it up at the "depot". I go down there and the driver doesn't show up until 6:15, at which point they wont let me in the building and the driver (who I was sure to catch leaving) stated that it wasn't his problem and there was nothing I could do. With all of this in mind it was SATURDAY:rant2:.... Never again will I ever use any service that is operated by the U.S. government. EVER! Needless to say despite expert shipping practices on the other end the fry didnt make it, and I lost a little over 175$

The USPS is usually excellent for me, but today they really pissed me off. I know most of the people in the front on a first name basis (and they know my husband and son's name and ask how they are if they're not along when I go). The delivery guy is usually really good as well, if there's a LIVE warning on the box, he'll bring it around back and walk up all of our stairs to deliver (we're on the third floor!). I don't know what the heck happened today. I have to wonder if they had some other person deliver it today. Either way, I'm not happy that my snails got hung over for three days now, for a two hour trip. >:(

I hate shipping period. Even though I've gotten more things here safely (if delayed) than destroyed, I've still had 1 of the only 3 live fish/invert containing packages I've ever gotten (and as it happens the most expensive) never get to me. Customs screwed it up, sent it ground when it was sent express, and the sender (CorysRus) wouldnt do jack to help, when it was he that had to start the process.

Too many unreliable idiots along the way.

I think UPS is the worst in my area. Fedex was great, but of course they were really expensive. Anymore, I won't purchase from sellers who ONLY offer UPS shipping services. I mean, packages that aren't alive are fine from UPS, but live is another story. There was a package that was supposed to be signed for on delivery, the guy never knocked or anything, even when he was given special instructions. Fedex, I left them a note, and they called, then brought the package up and were extremely polite. I honestly prefer to have fish shipped, for the most part, they arrive in better condition than what the petstores offer them!

FTM sent my plants Priority mail on Monday and they just got here this morning. Then I find out the stupid mail man doesn't bring the mail up to our office, but dumps it downstairs. I can understand that with regular mail, but packages should go to the floor they belong to. Fortunately, I was able to catch the pick up mail guy before I left for the day and got the package. Stupid USPS charges out the butt for craptastic service.

I'm sorry you guys have difficult service. I try my best to meet the mailman at the box for a daily "hi Jim, how's it going?" chat. I even gave him a "thank you for your great service" xmas card with a Lowes card, and 2 pictures of my shrimp:) He now will even in the rain bring packages to my door. He's got a pretty tough job, he works 6 days a week months on end, I don't know what they get paid, and has to deal with all that mail and people. No wonder postal workers go postal. I would try to establish a relationship with your mailman so when you need that extra service, they will help out if they can.

Despite today's sort-of-debacle, USPS has been great to me and they're my first choice for both shipping and receiving mail. UPS has been good to me well, save one silly incident where they left the package on the underside of my front door's awning. It took me forever to find, because really, who looks up at their awning to check for mail?

FedEx on the other hand, they're awful. They literally throw the package at my door from the sideway and leave.

hate to sound like the downer (but hey, who would i be if i wasnt? ;))

but if it "slipped your mind" to pick up the package you were so worried about....

it seems it "slipped their mind" too. :) remember.. it might be their job, but theyre just regular people trying to make a buck and feed their families too.. everyone makes mistakes.

Forgetting to ask about a package that is supposed to be delivered to your door is much different from "forgetting" to deliver mail to an entire street, then lying about it. Believe me, this package is far from being cared about, but, with the household I run, and the things that I have running through my head all the time, I am often forgetful.
