You've ordered pizza or other food for home delivery. When you pay the bill, how much of a tip do you give the delivery person? Do you think you're being generous, the amount is just right, or it's a little lower than it should be?
Just curious.

I use a calculator, and if its good service, I usually give 15 percent, but if they were late, or weren't very nice about 10 percent.

I always give a couple bucks, but I can not stand this sense of entitlement to a tip. If the waiter is rude, un attentive, they run the risk of not getting a tip. It doesn't take more than 15 seconds to come by and ask if we need anything. If the service is really good I'll leave a 5'er. Keep in mind our bills rarely go above 30 bucks. If they do it's because there's like 10 people and then we all pitch in for the tip.

I tip 3.00 on a 20.00 meal, and for a pizza I tip 2.00 but of course pizza around here is under 15.oo
if the waitress is not good or rude which I usually over look and try my best to be a good customer, and try to make a any situation better,but........ if she is still rude.... forget it!
I pick the pizza up so I don't have to tip! ;)
But 15-20% is standard.

20% at restaurants no matter what. Server could just be having a bad day,we all do.
Pizzas usually run $15 and I give them a $20....

I usually tip delivery drivers $3-5 depending on how much I buy. I normally tip good servers at a restaurant about 20%.

At restaurants, 15-20%, always. I remember living on my mom's tips when younger, and know that servers count on them to supplement their minimum wage. Delivered food gets $4-5.

i dunno. i usually try to give them 5 bucks for every 20 i order, depending on quantity. more in bad weather or if it's a long distance.
yeah.. at restaurants, my pet peeve is my drink.. be it soda, water, beer, it should NEVER go empty, and i am a complete @hole about it. it starts at 15%, and goes down to 10 if my drink hits bottom and she's not there within the minute to refill. every minute after that is another percentage, down to nothing.

Here in Indiana, the sales takx is 7%, so I usually double the sales tax and round up to the next even dollar.(about 15%)
If service was better, I add another buck, maybe 2..

15% at restaurants, more for great service, less for bad. Delivery $3-$5.
We dine at Ihop weekly and once we got a terrible waitress. She took our order, brought us our food 20 minutes later (10 being the norm, we understand that the time it takes to cook the food is out of her control, but it was sitting on the counter for a bit before she brought it to us) never checked on us once through our entire meal (and my boyfriend finished his soda before the food came and wanted another, never got it so I shared mine) and then we were waiting another 25 minutes after we had finished for her to finally come and give us our check. The kicker? There was a table on the other side of the isle that she checked on frequently and the one behind ours as well. It wasn't a particulalrly busy night. Needless to say, she did not get a good tip at all, and we make sure to look out for her whenever we go just in case. Would not want to get her again. That was the only bad experience we've ever had there.

I usually tip the pizza delivery guy about $5, but there's also a delivery surcharge added to the bill and I don't know how much of that he gets (I say he because we've never had a lady delivery person). I'm glad you asked this - I always wondered too.

I tip 5 bux for all home deliveries, regardless of what it is or how much is ordered... Of course I have never had a bad experience with deliveries, its pretty straight forward, they ring the doorbell, I pay and recieve the goods.. Kinda hard for them to be rude unless they are just going out of there way to be.

I started off waiting tables and still do sometimes and I must say I am impressed by how much most of you tip. Industry standard is between 15 and 20% of the bill although service does play a major role:) I tip at least 5 on EVERYTHING no matter what-poor service or not but i have been known to tip 100% of the bill. What most people do not understand is wait staff doesn't usually make even minimum wage salaries. My servers are paid $2.75 per hr (not my choice) so they DEPEND on tips.

When someone brings food to the door, I'd feel bad giving them less than $5, regardless of the bill. They're always really nice and it's face-to-face, so I tend to over-tip if it's a small-ish total.

Friend of mine doesn't tip the pizza guy. I won't eat pizza at his house. I believe they put footnotes under each customers name in the computer.
He wonders why the pizza is cold and the store less then 2 miles from his house but mines hot and I'm 7 miles from the store.
Told him if he tipped well his would be hot and have no spitwads under the pepperonis lol

We never have anything delivered, but when we go out it's 15% give or take depending on the level of service. I've only not tipped once, and the food and service were both so bad I don't feel guilty about it.
