Bought a few 5 in. Koi yesterday for the pond. Outside Temp hit 28 degrees this morning. Should I just keep them in one of the inside aquariums til Spring now? Haven't checked the pond temp yet, right now just have alot of different size comets in it. Bought the Koi at Wal-Mart, felt sorry for them, they were gasping.Checked the water they came home in and the ammonia was dark yellow! Thinking about going back and getting the last two that were left in that tank.

I would keep them inside in a tank large enough for them. Koi are messy and aggressive eaters. So I'd also wouldn't put anything in with the them. I moved the ones I had in my outdoor pond indoors when the temps started getting in the 50's at night. I've since sold them however.

Sorry forgot that name is getting deleted once this on got changed. Here's the info I posted with it so it won't be deleted once the user name gets deleted.

Make sure you've got a good filter also on the tank you're keeping them in.

Thanks for the reply. The temp dipped outside to 20 degrees last night. Hope the comets survive since a week ago we had temps in the 70's. The great N.W.!!;)
