Well, since I also like car's, and am always curious what people drive, I am posting my first completely off-topic thread here-

What do you drive/ride?

Me, 05 Magnum RT, slightly modified ($$$ keeping it from being heavily modified, lol)
Wife- 02 Grand Prix GT-

2006 Suzuki Reno, pumpkin orange. Weighs about 10lbs and if you could fold it in half and put a handle on it, you could carry it up the stairs, lol.
My dream car? A 1965 El Camino. That, or a nice lowrider 1988 Chevy S10. :D

The daily driver is a 99 Saturn but the pride and joy is a 08 Kawasaki Z1000. I debadged the bike and got some mods:

Akropovic slip-on exhuast system.
Integrated Tail-Light with DIY License bracket.
Single Seat Cowl
Renthal Handle Bar.
New Mirror.

Way to go, now I started thinking about summer and can't wait. I will post some pics later today.

I have a 1980 F150 4x4 with 38's and 488 gears, bored .040 over with 10:1 pistons, and a .50 duration cam... gets about 4 MPG... on a good day, but will go anywhere..

I have a 1997 F150 4x4 mostly stock, has 272,000 miles on it...

And a 2003 Honda VTX 1800R.. this thing is insane..
Its a cruiser bike, 1800 CC (1795 actual)
Has Vance & Hines Bigshots Pipes, a Hypercharger Pro, Power commander, and has been custom remapped. Dynos at 100 Hp at the rear wheel... this will pop wheelies in first, and second gear... Scares the crap outta me when I ride it, Man I love that bike!! How fast will it go? I dont know! The Speedo only goes to 135, and I can hit that in 3rd gear... Not bad, for a 800# cruiser! I'm at work, so I cant post pix right now... Maybe later.

Your making me miss my 87 YJ I sold last year. Built AMC 304, 3 speed 904 trans, 4" suspension lift, 33's, 410 gears. She never got above 6-8 MPG or 65mph but was my funniest truck I have had so far.

kamikaze_fish
01-13-2009, 4:10 PM
I had no idea the TDI got that kind of gas mileage! That's awesome! I now know what I'm going to upgrade to. I hate hybrids cause I can have an old school, old technology car that gets as good of gas mileage as many of them without using extra batteries.

My first '87 civic had 280k miles when I sold it and it was still in great shape. I was hooked on hondas then.

Gas mileage was obviously not my primary concern when I bought my maggie. The only reason I got the RT instead of the SRT-8 was money...
Oh well, it was a nice step up from my 98 Monte Carlo. I did feel like a traitor though, always been a GM guy...... Probably will go back to GM's also, I love my magnum, but it has had more quirks/issues than my Monte did. Oh well, it's fun. :)

zigman, I would prefer the new camaro. :)
I dunno, I love the look of the magnum, I always loved the old Nomad's and it kinda reminded me of them. I hate the roofrack on mine, but when you buy used, and kind of in a rush, options can be limited. :(

New Challengers are nice looking, much more old school look than the new camaro. Guess I will have to get both. ;)

My fully sick BMXs that are better than all of your cars put together. The Felt has Wellgo clipless pedals that are not on the bike, Maxxis rear tyre, random popped front tyre (did have a Maxxis), New grips, and other random mods. I'm gonna sell it cause I don't race or ride it anymore.

The Redline is old as. I have a real nice brother who let me buy a bike that didn't work for $75. When I bought it off him the chain was nearly rusted onto the sprocket, the brakes didn't work, no tyres, no seat and a many other things were wrong with it. When I got it I bought a new chain, new tyres and tubes, fixed the brakes, took the gyro off, put a new brake lever and cable on it, new seat, new grips, new crank, new sprocket, new seat post and some other stuff. Most of the stuff I just said weren't new, they just came off my other bike. So now the bike works fine, but it doesn't look the greatest so I'm gonna paint it black with white handle bars and forks. It's gonna be awesome lol.

Meh I'd rather have the dub. It'll probably come in at half the price, which means I couldn't afford the sportback anyway.

Only two vehicles for everyday use would really get me genuinely excited. Both are late models and both get lousy mileage:

Or, alternatively...

Somebody help me with my carbon footprint.

The only mode of transportation I own...

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c303/Bunny1113/DSCF0759.jpg

It's my daily driver, I live about a mile from where I work!

But, just because I don't own it doesn't mean I don't drive it:

Summer ride:

Took a plane out to CA last spring with the b/f and drove it back. Our trip was featured in the Miata magazine, Forever MX-5.

Aerodyne VATN turbo, intercooled, 8.5-9psi, MSD ignition retard, 100+ psi FPR, Mitsubishi recirculating BOV. Racing Beat springs, sways and front brace, Koni adjustable shocks. It's up for the winter right now.

The picture was taken by me in Red Rock Canyon outside Las Vegas.

Winter Ride:

It's military surplus off the base in Aberdeen, Maryland. Deisel, 24volt starting system, 6.2L Detroit Diesel engine with a TH400 transmission.

hey that is pretty cool! i don't know him personally, but i'm pretty sure i've seen your dad race since i've been autocrossing with NNJR for the last 5 years. a fish forum would be one of the last places i thought i would bump into a fellow autocrosser. small world! :)

Wow, I also autocross my vette. Not regularly, but a few times a year. I autocrossed an Acura RSX-S pretty regularly before that. I also thought the last place to find another autocrosser would be a fish forum...

Me too. You can tell a lot, sometimes, about a person by what they drive.

I've blown the doors off a Magnum R/T in my little 4 banger before BTW. :silly: :)

I also love cars.... I have built many 10 second cars and motors. right now, after buying a house I am down to bare ness.
a 06 Chevy Cobalt 4dr, my DD for work, a 04 GMC Sierra SLT 5.3L/3.73's for hauling stuff and my boat, a 91 MasterCraft Prostar 190 with a ford 351W.
I had a 79 Z28, and well as a 84 BMW that I used to race. my next ride will be a vette.
btw, nothing is stock except for the cobalt. (why bother with slow car anyway)
