I have two pair of convicts looking after fry
at the same time. (in seperate tanks)
so i decided to try an experiment of sorts.
I took some fry from the first pair and
put them in with the second pair
(just after a WC.) to see what would happen.
The parents, i thought would eat the strange fry
but they never, instead they are looking after them as
diligantly as their own.
Do you guys think that they can't tell the fry apart
or didn't eat the fry for some other reason.
Cheers.

well in a way its the same as synadontis.multis they put their eggs into a buch of other eggs and let them raise they fry ive tryed this with 2 brooding fish 1 protomelas and 1 alunocara stuartgranti and they raised the fry like normal malawians do but what happened was that the crossed over fish refused to school with their own kinds they followed the male of the colony they were raised with very interesting to watch and i still have those fish but they havent bred with the colony yet but if they do the fry are feeders no hybrids in my tank lol
