At a glance I would say that you are dealing with something in either the Characidae or Cyprinidae family, probably the latter. The mouth structure looks very similar to that of exodon paradoxus, but the body shape and coloration is too far off. It may very well be a "Megalamphodus Megalopterus," (spelling?), which I dont believe has an English name, judging by the fin shape and coloration behind the eye. See if you can find a picture of that and compare. I owned some once and it seems similar enough. However this is just on a whim, and I am highly skeptical that the picture is authentic-that type of coloration is quite uncharacteristic of anything in either of those families, so I would check where you got that photo from. Hope that helps, and good luck with the identification process!

some sites call it fei feng, but i want to know the scientific name coz i want to get info about the fish
You know what, I think I have seen that fish in Singapore but we referred to it as a "Charming Phoenix." I cannot remember for sure but I actually recall that it was very sought after because of its relationship with the Arowana and Siamese Tiger - I will ask around and see if i can help you out with the scientific name, but I am positive it is also called a charming phoenix so if that helps at all....But wow it is a really pretty fish no?
