Removing the children or the parents naming them that?

both,...
but to take kid away if not otherwise being harmed is not right for the kids, I'm sure they have no clue about the names and they are just kids I'm sure they love their parents,.. this is cruel even though the parents are just trying to stand out to be noticed,..

they could have a court ordered name change if that is all that is happening or have the parents submit to therapy but to harm the kid is very wrong,..

WHAT?

My shoprite is the one who refused to put Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler on the darn birthday cake!

Geez, though most of us would never do this, isn't this one of our freedoms as Americans......to be able to name our children whatever we want (with the exception of vulgarity which would not be polite for other people to say out loud when calling your name out. LOL).

I haven't read the local paper the last couple of days, I'll have to check it tonight to see what it says today. I do know that a family in the Holland Township area with the same last name was receiving death threat letters from some kook who heard about this on the news. The FBI had to be called in. The poor people who got the letter by mistake were terrified. Their family wouldn't come visit for the holidays. The letters supposedly mentioned that the family should watch their back, and when they least expect it...... and it included the children. Maybe they've taken the children into "protective custody" until they figure out where this other nutcase is that's sending the letters.

I like to tease the people at the checkout at this ShopRite....they just kinda smirk and say, we're not allowed to talk about that.

The children should not have been removed from the home for the names ONLY and it is my opinion that if you wanna name your child Beelzebub then go ahead it's not harming me:)

I'm pretty sure it's because of the death threats and would think that the children will be safer in child services custody than in their parents home until they find out who's threatening their lives.

the parents should have thought the kids welfare in naming them that way but this is where it ends with me
i kinda like the name, but it isn't right to put your kids in harms way by naming them that way,..

i feel you can name anything you want, if no harm becomes of it,..
but to take kids away from their parents for no reason is ludicrous....

the child is going to be traumatized by the act, and that can play a part on the way they grow up, including suffering the teasings and threats by others

it is so hard to try to raise your kid right and keep them safe, and to have this happen for no reason is distastful to me,
Government has been trying to raise our kids for years by saying all moms need to work, and let uncle government take care of your kids, fine if you want but i'm raising mine and thats that,..this is what families are for, but we today seemed to forgot what a family is and how it works,...
i'm the only one who will teach my kids right from wrong,..
but yes there are those that don't know how to and don't want to but still if you had them and want them, and love them how dare the government try to say otherwise,..

I think this happened 5 minutes away from my home. Did this happen at the shoprite in Phillipsburg?

I do have a problem with what the parents named their children. However, I donned a uniform and went into a war zone--ready to pay the ultimate price as did my brother, sister, father and grandfathers so that any idiot can name their children anything they wanted or to burn the flag or to put a cross upside down in a jar of urine and call it art. I think that child protective services in all of the states operate without any fear of retaliation "for the good of the children" and take it to far. Someone from the state could walk into anyone's home and take out your children--unless of course you have money to fight them with--without you being able to do anything about it. It is really scary to think about.

even if the parents were teaching the children Nazi ideologies, DCFS doesn't have the right to take them out of the home. plain and simple. if the child is being beaten, sure, then they can intervene. but names, ehhh, doesnt seem right to me.

dont think that i like their names though; i think its wrong that parents would stoop to that level to name their children after Hitler.

That's ridiculous? I think it's ridiculous to go to a baker's with your child and tell to put "Happy birthday Hitler" on the cake... I mean come on.

Imagine the awkward social studies classes :shakehead:

I think that if you're going to name your kids that, then there's some kind of mentality problems there. I couldn't imagine them being good parents to be 100% honest, just based on the names. Not that a name alone is neglect/abuse, but I can only imagine what else goes on in that house. Poor kids are probably going to grow up messed up in the head, goofy names or not, simply because of the mentality of the parents. Just my personal opinion.

I'm pretty disappointed in our government. Many sections of our government abuse the power that is given to them. These are some of the cases that are brought to light, imagine all the ones that go unheard, and unseen.

I'm not a Nazi fan, or a Hitler follower. But as some has said already, we do have the right to name our children as we please, and teach them as we would have it. Why is it ok to name your kid George W or Barack and not Adolf? If the government agency that commited this offence does not explain why it was done, then they need their power taken away, as THEY are the one's that are not fit to watch over America's future and practice freedom of choice.

All in all, I find the naming of those children dis-tasteful, but that is only my personal oppinion, and would not risk harm to my kids by doing so. It's sad when you think of it really, not being able to name your child in fear of retaliation from your peers. I'm not really sure how "free" we really are.

They probably took the kids in so they could ask them what it's like in their home and what their parents are teaching them and whether they can determine right from wrong and stuff. Or maybe they visited the kids in school/daycare and asked questions and the kids said things that raised alarm bells. They have to have a reason in order to take them away, but they don't have to tell the press.

In most cases even if there is abuse, they try to keep the kids with the parents/family. There's not enough resources to just randomly take every kid in because they get yelled at or whacked. Maybe their parents are those crazy nazi sympathizer types who go to rallies and beat the crap out of 'different' people. Or maybe not. Who knows. But to name your kids something like that, you obviously don't care too much bout them. Kids in schools are cruel and I see these children getting the crap beat out of them by their peers.

if there were no other issues with the family than they shouldn't have been forced from there homes. however, their names should be changed, by the laws rule or not. i cant imagine them getting into college or getting a good job

The sad part would be the employer doing something illegal like not hiring them based on a name. Same thing for a collage denying them also cause of their names.

I will only agree if there weren't other reasons to take in the kids.

Not disagreeing, but I don't think that's a fair argument, as two of those names are not associated with perhaps the most disgusting act of genocide in history.

The family is being protected by not having details released. That is out of the CPS' hands.

I'm sure things to that extent happen all the time (ie employers not hiring applicants based on frivolous things) it's just that usually they don't tell them that when rejection time comes ;)

But honestly, how worth it can it be going through life with that name? I guess its up to the kid but I personally couldn't imagine...

I feel bad for the children, having to grow up with those names and going through all of that.

There is more to this story that we just haven't heard yet. The children are 3 and younger I doubt they could have said to much to raise concern. Now if they kept showing up to daycare with bruises or such, then maybe. We just don't know what the whole story is and may never know.

I for one thought long and hard before naming my daughter. I know how cruel kids can be and I wanted a name that they couldn't easily make fun of. My name is Cara Lee M. and there was one person who learned my middle name and called me Sara Lee once and I remember how upset I was at that. It only happened to me once I can't imagine what will happen with these kids.

exactly. there are such things as privacy laws.. there is no way the children were removed from the home solely because of their names, there had to be other reasons that were determined by law.

remember.. the media is the media is the media. they'll tell you what will shock, awe, and keep your attention, and ONLY that, even if it means eliminating key information that might "pacify" any of that shock and awe value.

if this was to protect the kids then why not relocate the whole family?,
or something to that effect,.

to take kids away from the parent is to protect them from the parent, right?

but to protect them from Nazi sympathizers then, why not take kids away from dope addicts and prostitutes, etc, or overeater's this could go on for ever, what isn't right for kids to live with...
