Hi Guys!
It's been a while, but I'm back with a new tank. This time, I've set up a 37 high aquarium that I found at a local Salvation Army (priced at $25, with 75% off on top, it was a steal! PLUS it came with a light!)
It sat in my workshop for a while because I didn't quite know where to put it.. It has an odd footprint (almost square) and was taller than would fit where I wanted to install it (24".) Finally, after months of sitting, waiting, I found a home for it after re-arranging the sitting room furniture.
I pulled out a filter I had lying around (a marineland 170) and threw the old heater from my 55 in there and began to hard scape. I used a Eco-Complete/Marine Sand mix that I had left over from a previous tank and three, small-medium pieces of wood.
Because it's so deep, I decided to build caves/shelves so that the base of some of the plants wouldn't be too deep. Using two halves of a plastic planter I created two caves and made retaining walls out of the driftwood.
Yesterday I picked up some plants. An Amazon sword, and two others.. (i forgot what they are.) I threw them in there, and will do some more thorough landscaping once I get some more sand/eco-complete to fill some holes i've noticed since the tank has cleared up.
ANY WAY.. Photos are attached (the first 2 and from the side, as you sit next to it from the couch, and the 3rd is from the front)
Comments/questions/suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!
Thanks,
MK
