Gary has another new clutch! It's only 5 days after her last one. Is that normal? The male I have is already mating her again. Poor Gary can't cut a break.

I get 6-10 clutches EACH week from 3 female breeders. It takes their toll on them.

My big golden girl has a minimum of a clutch a week (usually more). i wouldn't say its abnormal :)
My biggest female cana lays clutches almost every 2-3 days. Poor girl can't get a break.lol

If you separate the females from the males, do they still lay clutches that just don't hatch?

They can lay infertile clutches as part of normal reproductive health, the females can also store sperm for a few months.

I have lots of snails, but only a clutch here and there every month or so. Im glad as they were really laying there for a while. not a clutch now in a few weeks.

They're JUST like the guppies of the snail world, aren't they?! Gorgeous, colorful, and they put rabbits to shame.
To prevent the females from getting worn out, what do you do? Just supplement them with calcium, or can you actually convince them not to breed to give them a break?
The only way is separate them from males.lol

I'm pretty sure that I have 2 males and 2 females. Going back to when the first clutch appeared (3 clutches now) each one was 5 days appart exactly. I'd hate to separate them cause they (no doubt) are VERY happy in the planted 40 gallon. I don't think going into a 10 g fry tank would be good for any of them.

what is the likelihood that when removing to males to a another tank that a male turns female and you have the problem all over again?

No chance at all. Brigs are either male or female and do not change sexes. I wouldn't call it a problem....yet:rofl:
