Hello all,
This is Tig, he is I think a cichlid. I bought him from a cichlid tank, but after being told that my walking catfish was a red pacu, I don't hold much weight in what people from the pet stores tell me. he is about 2 inches long and is a golden tan with the dark brown markings. I can't seem to find him in any fish data base.
Help please!

I wish I could get a closer pic. He is camera shy. He sees me at the glass and runs and hides. I will try again though. I don't think he's a goldfish though, h looks too cichlidish. I hope anyways.

I was talking about the little brown fish above the two plecos.
you should try asking in cichlids. i would say it's definately one of them. the picture sucks tho, sorry. i don't have any image editing software installed at the moment to "blow it up" either.
it reminds me of one of my occasional convict babies, but just the color. the body isn't the right shape. i say this as a non-specific thing, sometimes i come up with "pink" convict babies that aren't quite pink. i had some convicts that were cross bred at some point. the end result was 2 "normal" black looking parents would breed and have "normal" kids, "pink" kids and some that would fall sort of in between. they were pink with some extra markings. as a wild guess i would say this might be a similar situation.
good luck.........

Hard to tell from the pics, but try looking up OB. Peacock...the patterns look similar

wow really hard to tell from that pic, I agree with firsttanks, it has marking patterns similar to the OB Peacock (Aulonocara sp. "Ob peacock") if it is. it is a hybrid. Take a look at this site, see if this is the fish you have
OB Peacock (http://www.malawimayhem.com/profile_show.php?id=376&PHPSESSID=6caeeea9f9bff8314d14042de58e5284)
Hope that helps :D
